- עִינּוּי, עִנּ׳I m. (עָנָה I) chorus of lamentation, dirge. M. Kat. III, 9 (ref. to מְעַנּוֹת ib.) איזהו ע׳וכ׳ when is a lamentation called ʿinnuy? When all begin at once, contrad. to קינה, when one speaks and the chorus responds.
